A TOWNSHIP built around the ecological traits of its surroundings is what Asia Pacific Land (AP Land) has to offer with its massive development project at Bandar Tasik Puteri in Rawang.
“While the southern areas like Kajang and Klang have seen rapid development in recent years, we decided to launch this project in the northern area to meet increasing demand,” said area general manager Siew Weng Kong.
“The land also allowed us to design the township to suit the natural surroundings of the area,” he said.
AP Land has built the entrance of the township around wetlands that are a natural habitat for black herons.
“The state government gazetted the wetlands and the herons have become an attraction for our township,” said Siew.
The township is also expected to be Malaysia’s First Integrated Urban Regional Centre.
“It will be twice the size of Subang Jaya and we are expecting to complete the whole project in 25 years,” said Siew.
“We currently have two schools and another will be completed by this year.
“On top of that, residents can also expect a new university college this year catering to both Malaysian and foreign students,” said Siew, adding that the township is already equipped with a wireless broadband system.
One of the highlights for the township is the huge Central Park.
“The park will include a community centre, a skating rink, a playground, a lake with lush greenery and other facilities for residents to enjoy,” said deputy general manager Mohd Azhan Che Mat.
“We are working closely with the National Library to set up a community library here,” he said.
While many might think that Rawang is a far away place to live in, Siew is confident of overcoming that misconception.
“Rawang is no further than Puchong or Subang Jaya from the city and we want to bring the people away from the Klang Valley,” he said.
Busses have begun services in the area with a direct route from Bandar Tasik Puteri to Kuala Lumpur, while road widening from Rawang town to Bandar Tasik Puteri will begin this year.
The developer will be holding a Golden Prosperity Carnival 2007 on Feb 25 at Medan Puteri to allow the public to view the amenities and surroundings of the township. There will be activities like lion dance performances, drum and acrobatic performances, and other contests for children and adults from 11am to 3pm.
“We will also be having the Golden Prosperity Home Package for all available units,” said Azhan.
“House buyers will get free legal fees, free loan agreement costs, free S&P agreement and up to 100% financing on the houses.”
The special home package will run until March 25.
